The SRMHS Student Services Department supports student success in a number of ways. Our primary responsibility is to promote success within the school environment, and we serve as the primary contact for students or parents with questions related to scheduling, school-wide testing, or post-secondary planning.

We recognize that students' overall well-being is fundamental to academic achievement, and we encourage students to see their counselor when encountering academic, social, or personal difficulty. Counselors are here to address the concerns of students and, when necessary, to connect them with the resources they may need, both inside and outside of school.

Among those resources available within SRMHS is Peer Mediation. This program trains student mediators who work with their peers in resolving conflicts and negotiating disputes in a non-violent manner and in mutually agreed upon terms.

Peer mediators serve as facilitators and do not take sides, give advice or assume responsibility for solving the dispute. They are trained only to assist those in conflict to solve their problems and to create new possibilities beneficial to all involved.

Appointments: To schedule an appointment with a counselor or to schedule a mediation, sign a request form in the Student Services lobby area. Whenever possible, appointments are scheduled so that they do not interfere with instructional time.

Parents may schedule appointments by calling 856-2850.

New Student Registration

Students new to Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School will schedule a
registration appointment by calling (919) 856-2850.

Student registration appointment times are as follows:

Tuesday 8:00 am and 9:30 am 2:00 pm
Thursday 8:00 am and 9:30 am 2:00 pm

Having the proper documents will ensure that the process is handled quickly and efficiently and that new students have a schedule on the first day of school, July 26, 2006.

If you are new to Wake County Public School System or are transferring within WCPSS, you will need to bring the same following documents with you to your appointment:

  1. Proof of residency (electric, gas or water bill)
  2. Transfer approval form from WCPSS

  4. Immunization record
  5. Unofficial copy of transcript (for students in grades 10-12)
  6. Report card or withdrawal form with grades
  7. IEP or 504 Plan if applicable

These will be completed on site:

  • Personal data sheet
