WCPSS Board Policy (6000.5) states that school work will be made up for absences (excused and unexcused) under the following conditions:

• It is the student´s responsibility to check with teacher (or follow the teacher´s published policy) concerning make-up work following an absence.
• If the make-up work was not assigned in advance of the absence:
  • for absences of three days or less the student will have one day for each day of an absence (excused or unexcused) to make up work missed.
  • for absences of more than three days, the student will have two days for each day absent to make up work. Special consideration will be given in the case of extended absences due to injury or chronic illness.
• Assignments (including tests) made prior to a student's absence that are due during the absence or on the day of return need to be submitted to the teacher immediately upon the student's return to school. Consideration will be given to absences which would not support make-up work the day of return, such as death in the immediate family or serious illness.
