Clubs and organizations
Clubs and organizations are a valuable part of the high school experience. Students who are the happiest during high school are the students who belong to one or more student organizations. Clubs help you find other students with like interests and make you feel more a part of the school community.
Clubs & Organizations information is refreshed annually by faculty advisors.
Guidelines for forming a student organization:
- Each student organization must be sponsored by a faculty member and approved by the principal.
- Staff members interested in sponsoring an organization should communicate that interest to the administration. Students interested in forming an organization must acquire a sponsoring faculty member. Applications for new organizations should include the following:

- Benefit of the club or organization to SRHS
- Proposed activities
- Intended leadership structure
- Sponsors and leaders of clubs and organizations prepare and submit their budgets to the appropriate AP.
- Faculty sponsors enter club information on the web page.
Athletics
SRMHS is a member of the Triangle Alliance Athletic Conference (TAAC). Our teams have earned an outstanding reputation by playing their games in the spirit of good sportsmanship and hard work. We continue this tradition by demonstrating good sportsmanship in the stands as well as on the field.
Visit the SRMHS Athletics page for sports by season and their schedules. This information is entered by coaches.
Eligibility
Athletes must comply with SRMHS policies concerning athletics and the NCHSAA rules and regulations. Grades and attendance will play a major role in determining the eligibility of student athletes. If you need more information on eligibility, contact your coach who should have a copy of the rules for eligibility from the state and local agencies. It is important that you review this information with your parents to understand the NCHSAA by-laws and how they relate to you.
Participation
All students are encouraged to participate in athletics during their high school careers. Skill acquisition is the focus of our athletic programs. Therefore, prior participation is helpful but not mandatory. Participation in athletics is a privilege. Athletes earn this privilege through dedication, desire and discipline. For these reasons, athletes are encouraged to participate in as many sports during the year as they are capable. Once an athlete begins participation in-season, he/she is obligated to complete that season in that sport.
