Seniors may earn an exemption from course ending examinations based upon the following criteria:
- Seniors with an A average and no more than three absences in the class may be awarded an exemption from the exam.
- Seniors with B average and no more than two absences in the class may earn an exemption from the exam.
Notes:
- Exemptions will not be granted for state mandated examinations:
- VOCATS assessments: CTE courses
- End-of Course: English I, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- The count includes each instructional day of the term.
- Attendance will be calculated by period by the teacher.
- Time missed for the following are not considered absences:
- approved school related activities,
- Board of Education approved religious holidays, and
- pre-scheduled guidance appointments.
- A student with an unexcused absence, regardless of the grade average, will forfeit the privilege of being exempt from the examination.
- The qualifying grade average is based upon all grades from the beginning of the semester.
