What is an Attendance Contract Letter?

After five days of accumulated absences in one or more classes, there will be school determined, expectations-based intervention to help the student improve his or her attendance. An attendance contract letter is a contract between the school Administration, parent and student that stipulates the following when students have missed six or more days in a semester. The parent will be contacted by the SAP Coordinator to schedule a parent conference.

Parents/Students are expected to attend the attendance conference with the SAP Coordinator and Administrator, to review the attendance policy, to review the attendance contract and to discuss the attendance expectations set forth by Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. WCPSS Board Policy 6000.8, 6000.10 and 6000.11 supports the attendance contract letter, and the school's intervention strategies. If parents have questions or concerns please have them contact the student's Administrator or the attendance office.
