Principal's Message

Monday, July 26th is the first day of school for Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School students. All students should arrive in time to be seated in their Academic Coaching (AC) class at 7:45 a.m. AC lists and locations will be posted on the walls in the Great Hall. Students will receive a copy of their schedule and other first day materials during AC.

It is extremely important for all students to be in attendance during the first 10 days of school to be included in our enrollment count.

We will begin SMART lunch on the first day of school. We will have staggered dismissal for 9th graders the entire first week of school in order to establish lunch routines in the cafeteria. Student ID numbers will also serve as their lunch number. Seniors and juniors who got off-campus lunch approval this week will get their IDs on Monday from the AC teacher. No one will be permitted to leave campus without an ID card and off-campus lunch approval.

Parents and students there will be no early dismissal Wednesdays this year. There will be on six early release days during the year. The first on is Friday, August 20.

Seniors! Cheers to you--the class of 2011. I hope you are excited about the first day of school and the beginning of your final year in high school. Join your classmates Monday morning for senior social time and breakfast from 7:00-7:30 a.m. in the stadium.

Students and parents, I am looking forward to a smooth start on Monday and a great school year. Please join our staff in making a commitment to set goals and do all within your power to have a successful school year.

Have a great weekend!
